performative cinema

Eng has been creating video performances since 1995.  She directs performances that focus on non-linear poetic narratives that include abstraction, live and pre-recorded digital manipulation, live camera, archival samples and her own video footage. She collaborates with designers, architects, video artists and musicians. This type of performance should not be confused with silent film accompanied by live music.  Process is an important aspect of these projects which emphasize a live dialogue between image and sound based around set themes and concepts.
